Unique Wedding Cakes: Cakes With A Talking Point!

Northern girls loves pies....maybe that is why I am in love with this Pork Pie Occasion Cake (Marks and Spencer). I think that this cake would be great at an outdoors picnic wedding! It is available from Marks and Spencer's £99

Another offering from Marks and Spencer's is this Small Cheese Celebration Cake. Savoury cheese wedding cake are often a great way to save money! This cake retails at only £89.

A popular wedding trend at the moment is "naked" wedding cakes. These sponge cakes are stacked on one another, sprinkled with icing sugar and then decorated with fruit. They have a great vintage look and are great for couples who aren't a fan of icing! This example below is from Raspberry Catering.

How about a stunning creation from Choccywoccydoodah? These cakes really are works of art! These cakes allow the bride and groom to convey their own personal style at their day. They are a great option if you are looking for the wow factor and are willing to spend a little more of your budget on a cake that is guaranteed to turn heads! Here are a couple of cakes from their collection below...
"Just Us" cake
"Blue Swan" cake
"Miss Havisham" cake

If you fancy a healthier but equally as colourful option then you could always attempt a Stacked Watermelon Cake - wedding cakes make of fruit (image taken from mixing bowlikids.typepad.com).

Take a look at this French macaroon tower. If you are thinking of having a Parisienne themed wedding or were toying with the idea of having macaroons included somewhere then why not take a look at these! This cake is from Catherine-mason-cakes.co.uk

Here is a wedding cake with a twist! This Croque en bouche wedding cake is from Caffe Concerto (caffeconcerto.co.uk). This is a classic French style occasion cake with profiteroles towered high into this impressive structure. There is a choice of fillings from including chocolate cream, chantilly cream and creme patisserie. This cake retails at £5.00 per portion starting at 30 people.

What about turning things on their head (literally) and having an "Upside Down Cake". Be inspired by this amazing cake from kaley cuoco - a hanging upside down tier cake!

If this creation is a little out of your price range then how about this alternative from Marks and Spencer's. This upside down white chocolate swirl wedding cake retails at £229.

Do you like dunkin' doughnuts? Do you like them so much that would consider having your wedding cake made from them? Krispy Kreme now stock occasion cakes - check them out at krispykreme.co.uk

Another option is to have cake pops at your wedding! This design is from ivorycakepopcompany.co.uk - doesn't it look charming! Cake pops start at £2 each.

You could always opt for cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. These have been popular for the last decade at weddings as a cake alternative. This tier is from lilycupcake.co.uk and is a pink and lilac piped roses creation.

My final suggestion for a cake with a talking point is a tiered cookie cake! These cakes are so cute! You could layer up different flavours and decorate them with lots of choclatey treats! This example is from cookiecreative.com
